JAZZ & HIP HOP CLASSES
The genre of Jazz involves a variety of dynamic movements that are dynamic, strong, and typically fast paced - although not always, think of Fosse!
Nowadays, Jazz involves lots of big jumps, high kicks, turns, mixed with intricate choreography, and is performed with high energy and strength. There are many different styles of jazz and it is very popular due to its affiliation to music videos, movies and dance competitions.

We offer a variety of these styles, including theatre jazz (or straight jazz), commercial, broadway, and cabaret jazz (Fosse).

Hip Hop evolved alongside the emergence of Hip Hop music, involving a natural sense of rhythm. Recently, other forms of hip-hop have been established, such as lyrical hip hop and jazz-funk have and involve highly technical elements of other dance disciplines. Our classes provide a wide range of styles in this genre and we often get in guest industry teachers to help our students further develop.

Please note, we offer these genres in separate classes, divided into Jazz technique (kicks, turns & jumps), JFH which focuses on Hip Hop and Jazz Funk, Jazz Advanced, and Open Jazz (incorporates Commercial, straight jazz, and cabaret style jazz to give the students well-rounded training in this genre).

Please note these classes are taught separately.
